UOB (Thai) annual charity funds underprivileged cancer patients

Mr. Peter Foo, CEO of UOB (Thai), presents on behalf of the Bank a donation of 1,522,588.25 baht to the Ramathibodi Foundation, represented by Associate Professor Thanya Subhadharaphandhu on 9 July 2014 at the UOB (Thai) Headquarter Office on Sathon Road, Bangkok. The Bank’s annual charity event for this year, the 2014 Heartbeat Walk/Run helped raised funds for the underprivileged cancer patients of the Ramathibodi Foundation.

The Heartbeat Walk/Run is UOB’s charity project which is held annually concurrently in five countries; Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. It is an event in which UOB staff and their families join in to mobilise the annual fund raising activity for a charitable cause.

The Bank plays an active role in the community, focusing on children, education and the arts through the UOB Heartbeat Run/Walk. In 2011, the inaugural year that UOB (Thai) launched the Heartbeat Walk/Run event, the Bank had a fund drive which resulted in donations to Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital under the auspice of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. In the following year, the Bank raised money to support the youth who participated in its UOB Painting of the Year Competition.Last year, in 2013, UOB (Thai) raised funds for underprivileged cancer patients of Siriraj Hospital, Ramathibodi Hospital and the National Cancer Institute.
