UOB employees from across the region run together for a cause
$660,000 raised for local children’s charities in the region

Some 8,000 United Overseas Bank (UOB) employees and their families from across the region participated in the annual UOB Heartbeat Run/Walk today to raise funds for children’s charities. UOB teams in Bangkok, Semarang, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Shanghai, the Bank and its customers raised more than $660,000

In Thailand, the Heartbeat Run/Walk for 2013 was held at Bangkok’s historic Lumpini Park with more than 2,000 employees and families participating in the fund-raising event. The raised in Thailand will go to underprivileged cancer patients supported by the Siriraj Foundation, Ramathibodi Hospital and the National Cancer Institute of Thailand. In addition to contributions, funds raised through the purchase of artwork created by the ART.for.CANCER by comeonireal project will also go towards helping these patients.

Mr. Steven Ngeo, Managing Director and Country Head of Credit and Risk Management, UOB (Thai),  thanked all employees for their participation and fund raising efforts.“This is the first time that UOB (Thai) has gathered a record number of more than 2,000 participants to join in this meaningful cause to help underprivileged cancer patients and contribute towards the community. I’m proud of the team spirit and collaborative attitude of our UOB family and friends.”
