UOB Thailand confirms cases of COVID-19
19 non-customer facing colleagues test positive

Update as at 15 April 2021 - UOB Thailand has been informed by the health authorities that 19 of our non-customer facing colleagues from our Call Centre and Telesales teams have tested positive for COVID-19. They are now receiving medical care. We are providing our colleagues and their families the support they may need throughout their recovery.

These colleagues were last in their offices at the UOB Phetkasem Building and Software Park office from 7 to 12 April 2021. They tested positive between 12 and 15 April 2021. Most of the confirmed cases may be linked given the rise of new cases in Bang Khae and nearby areas of Phetkasem Building.

To ensure the continuity of our operations and services, the Bank has activated split-site arrangements for the Call Centre team.

We continue to monitor the situation closely and have the following precautionary measures in place to ensure the well-being of our colleagues and customers.

  • We will conduct a thorough deep cleaning and disinfection of the entire floor and the common areas of the buildings and/or offices where employees who tested positive work, in accordance with Ministry of Health and National Environment Agency guidelines;
  • Colleagues who may have come into close contact with employees who tested positive will be required to undergo COVID-19 testing and to be in self-quarantine until their test results are determined.
  • Colleagues working on the same floors with confirmed cases will be asked to monitor their health closely and to seek medical care immediately if they are unwell.
