Insurable Age

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Insured must be a Thai national or a non-Thai national residing in Thailand, including holders of long-term resident (LTR) visas, work permits, dependent visas, or student visas.
  2. For the annual policy, the maximum coverage period per trip is 180 days.
  3. Travel must commence from Thailand and end in Thailand. The insurance policy must be purchased before departure (not while already travelling).
  4. Only one policy may be purchased per insured person per trip.
  5. Terms and conditions are subject to the Smart Traveller Plus insurance policy.
  6. For travel to Schengen countries, only the Gold plan or higher is valid for Schengen visa applications.

     This insurance policy will not cover any loss, injury, damage, or legal liability arising directly or indirectly from travel in, to or through:

  • Afghanistan, Belarus, Crimea (including Sevastopol), Cuba, Iran, Nepal (only areas higher than 1,500 m. above sea level), North Korea, Russia, Syria, Myanmar, Ukrainian Regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia and Venezuela.
  • The sanctioned countries declared by the United Nations (UN) or the trade or economic sanctions, laws or regulations of the European Union, United Kingdom or United States of America.

Important Exceptions

  1. Coverage does not extend to airline personnel (except ground staff), air crew, ship crew, naval, military or air-force service members, or professional athletes, including professional divers.
  2. Suicide, attempted suicide or any act of self-harm.
  3. Pre-existing medical conditions, including any symptoms or complications arising from such conditions.
  4. Injuries sustained while the Insured is engaged in hunting, car or boat racing, horse racing, ski racing (including jet-ski), skate racing, boxing, parachuting (except for life-saving purposes), hot-air ballooning, gliding, bungee jumping, climbing or hiking that requires equipment, or diving with oxygen tanks or other underwater breathing apparatus.

If the trip is postponed, the Insured must notify the insurance company in advance before the departure date so the coverage period can be adjusted accordingly. Please contact AXA Hotline Tel. 0 2118 8111 from Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM to 06:30 PM. The modification process will take 2-3 business days. If you need the documents urgently, please notify AXA in advance.

1. For Outpatient Treatment (OPD): The Insured will need to pay the medical expenses upfront and then submit a claim to AXA for reimbursement after returning to Thailand.

2. For Inpatient Treatment (IPD): The Insured can contact AXA Hotline Tel. 0 2118 8111 for emergency medical assistance. No need to pay upfront if you receive treatment at hospital network of emergency assistance provider assigned by AXA.
