UOB (Thai) has donated 1,000 protective coveralls to the Rajavithi Hospital, one of Thailand’s main Government hospitals and which has been receiving an increasing number of COVID-19 patients. The Bank’s donation will help keep healthcare workers safe as they work tirelessly to save the lives of those who been hospitalised due to COVID-19.

In Thailand, the growing number of people who have tested positive with the virus includes medical professionals, reinforcing the urgent need for more personal protective equipment such as coveralls to be given to those battling on the frontline of this health emergency.

Mr. Tan Choon Hin, CEO and President of UOB (Thai), said, “Over the past few months, we have implemented a number of precautionary measures to protect the well-being of our customers, colleagues and the communities in which we operate. Our thoughts are also with those in the frontline, including healthcare workers, who have been selfless in their efforts to provide critical care to others. Through our donation, we hope to help meet the demand for personal protective equipment which is critical to the safety of medical professionals and to lend our support in containing the spread of the virus.”

UOB (Thai)’s donation is part of its commitment to Thailand and to support the nation’s collective efforts to combat the virus outbreak.  The Bank earlier announced relief measures for corporate clients, particularly small- and medium-sized enterprises, and retail customers to overcome their temporary cash flow difficulties. It is also offering complimentary income and life insurance coverage for customers who contract the virus.
