UOB Thailand donates 3,000 personal kits with essential items to three COVID-19 community isolation centres in Bangkok

UOB Thailand has provided 3,000 sets of essential personal kits to patients infected with COVID-19 who are undergoing medical treatment at community isolation centres in three districts of Bangkok.  Each personal kit comprises of face masks, a bottle of hand sanitiser alcohol gel, shower gel, toothbrush, toothpaste, and a bottle of water.

Over the last few months, Bangkok has seen a surge in the prevalence of COVID-19 infections with mild symptoms that do not require hospitalisation. More community isolation centres have been set up to accommodate influx of people in need of proper medical care without going to hospitals. According to the Department of Disease Control (DDC), Ministry of Public Health, COVID-19 cases may reach 100,000 cases by the Songkran long holiday in April.

Mr Tan Choon Hin, CEO and President of UOB Thailand, said, “We recognise that this is a difficult and trying time for the infected patients and the community isolation facilities who are working hard to take care of them. We hope that through this small donation, UOB can do our part for the community and help relieve the load on district offices with community isolation centres under their supervision, allowing them to focus on providing care to the patients.”

As part of our #UnitedForYou COVID-19 Relief Programme, the 3,000 sets of personal care kit were donated to people who are infected by COVID-19 and are under the care of three Community Isolation Centres including Sathon, Klong Toey, and Phasicharoen.

UOB Thailand has been helping its customers and communities through the #UnitedForYou COVID-19 Relief Programme since the onset. During the past two years, colleagues and customers united to raise funds of close to 10 million baht in combating the pandemic. We have provided medical equipment to five main COVID-19 hospitals in the upcountry for the ongoing care of the patients as well as the relief kits and daily necessities for close to 8,000 disadvantaged individuals in home quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
