Getting to know Thailand Taxonomy

Thailand Taxonomy is a voluntary and standardized classification system of economic activities deemed as environmentally-sustainable and climate-aligned. Thailand Taxonomy is grounded in the latest climate science aligned with the goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050 as prescribed by the relevant Paris agreement that that keep warming below 1.5°C.

Thailand Taxonomy Phase 1 focuses on the economic activities relating to the energy and transportation sectors, which contribute to the highest proportion of carbon emissions.

The Bank of Thailand expects all financial institutions to adopt Thailand Taxonomy which will support the transition to low-carbon society.
